Lightning kills 5 in Nilphamari

At least five farmers were struck down and more than 50 left injured by a series of thunderbolts accompanied by hailstorm in Sadar and Jaldhaka upazilas of Nilphamari Saturday. Those killed on the spot are Akbar Ali (45) of Joychandi, Mohar Ali (45) of Baniapara, Gulzar Rahman (25) of Bajitpara, Apan (35) of Kulkhapara and Abdul Kabul (42) of Dauapara village. Of the injured, 47 were admitted to Nilphamari Sadar Hospital. — UNB
