Lightning kills five of a family

LALMONIRHAT, Sept 18: Five people of a family, including four girls, were killed and another was injured by lightning at Kamolabari village under Aditmari Upazila Friday. The dead were identified as Fatema Khatun (28), her minor daughter Shamsunnahar (2) and siblings Sufia Khatun (17), Samina Khatun (15) and Ruhul Amin (15). Fatema's father Sobhan Mia was admitted to local health complex in critical condition. Police and witnesses said a streak of thunderbolt struck the house of Sobhan at about 2:30pm when the victims were staying inside. — UNB
