Lt-General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has replaced Brig-Gen (retd) Sakhawat Hussain as home adviser as some interim government portfolios have been redistributed, according to a handout from the Chief Adviser's Office.
The reshuffle came following the swearing in of four new advisers on Friday.
The new advisers are Prof Wahiduddin Mahmud, Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, Lt-General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Ali Imam Majumder, reports BSS.
Wahiduddin has been given portfolios of planning and education ministries, while Fawzul Kabir ministries of power, energy and mineral resources, road transport and bridges, and railways.
On the other hand, Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam has been given charge of home and agriculture ministries, and Ali Imam attached to the Chief Adviser's Office.
The redistribution of the portfolios of existing advisers is as follows: Salehuddin Ahmed (ministries of finance and commerce), Dr Asif Nazrul (ministries of law, justice and parliamentary affairs; expatriates' welfare and overseas employment and cultural affairs), Adilur Rahman Khan (ministries of industries, and housing and public works), Syeda Rizwana Hasan (ministries of environment, forest and climate change, and water resources), Md Nahid Islam (ministries of posts, telecoms and IT, and information and broadcasting), Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan (ministries of youth and sports, and labour and employment), Brig Gen (retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain (ministry of textiles and jute), Farooq-e-Azam (ministries of liberation war affairs, and disaster management and relief).
However, the portfolios of other advisers remain unchanged.
