MAN Siddique has been removed from the post of managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) seven years after his appointment.
The Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges cancelled the appointment on Monday with immediate effect, according to a circular.
In another office order, the RTHD appointed Mohammad Abdur Rouf, additional secretary and additional project director (Finance and Administration) of Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development project (Line-5) Northern route, the MD of DMTCL on current charge.
MAN Siddique was appointed without signing any contract and just issuing a circular issued on October 26, 2017.
Changes in the position of the DMTCL MD came following a news published in The Financial Express on September 7 titled "How a retired bureaucrat becomes metro monarch, muddles matters".
