Manna put on 10-day remand

A court in the city granted on Wednesday 10-day police remand for Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna in a sedition case involving the army filed against him with the Gulshan Police Station, reports UNB.
Metropolitan magistrate Mahbubur Rahman passed the order, when police produced Manna before it and sought remand.
Earlier, sub-inspector Sohel Rana filed the case against Manna with the police station on Tuesday under section 131 of the Penal Code.
The offence under BPC section 131 provides for imprisonment for life or imprisonment for a term which may extend to 10 years and also fine.
