Market capitalisation of DSE rises to Tk 1.009t

First Security Bank Limited made a debut on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Monday with a gain of 93.25 per cent and sent the DSE market capitalisation soaring past Tk 1.0 trillion-mark.
The market capitalisation rose to Tk 1.009 trillion on the day against the previous day's Tk 995.92 billion. The previous highest record of market capitalisation was Tk 999 billion on September 10 this year.
The First Security Bank added Tk 2.3 billion to the market capitalisation at the prime bourse.
The DSE General Index (DGEN), the benchmark index, and All Shares Price Index (DSI) rose -- 9.11 points and 6.07 points to close at 286.34 and 2418.03 respectively.
The DSE-20 blue chip index, however, slightly shed 3.84 points to close at 2375.75.
Of the total 226 issues traded on the day, 93 gained, 120 declined and 13 remained unchanged.
The day's total turnover dropped to Tk 4.01 billion against the previous day's Tk 4.34 billion.
The debutant First Security Bank was the third top turnover leader with shares worth Tk 239.45 million traded. The bank, the day's top gainer, rose 93.25 per cent to end at Tk 193.25 per share. However, the bank share was traded in the range between Tk 185 and Tk 208 per share on the day.
Titas Gas was the top turnover leaders in terms of value with shares worth Tk 398.41 million trading. However, its share price fell by 4.43 per cent to close at Tk 473.50 per share.
GrameenS2 was the second turnover leader with shares worth Tk 239.45 million changing hands.
Other turnover leaders were AIMS 1st Mutual Fund, ACI Limited, Summit Power, ICB AMCL 2nd NRB Mutual Fund, Beximco Pharma, Beximco Limited, and Prime Finance and Investment.
Glaxo SmithKlin, Sajib Knitting, Summit Power, Mithun Knit, Saleh Carpet, Eastland Insurance, Pragati Life Insurance, Apex Foods and Hakkani Pulp and Paper were the top gainers on the day.
Top ten losers were SAFKO Spinning, Bionic Food, Desh Garments, BCIL, Agni Systems Limited, Meghna Pet, BD Welding, ICB AMCL 1st, Fuwang Food and PharmAid.
