Mobile court seals 8 polythene plants

Eight polythene factories in Old Dhaka were sealed off Saturday. A mobile court, led by magistrate Anwar Pasha, conducted the drive against illegal production of polythene at Lalbagh. Pasha said: "The drive was launched in the morning with the help of RAB. On the first day, eight factories were sealed." Owners of two factories were also sentenced to six months in prison. Besides, 10 staff members of the factories were fined Tk 10,000 for their involvement with the illegal production of polythene. Six other owners, however, escaped the scene, hearing of the drive.
