Mother, daughter found dead in city

A mother and her four-year-old daughter were found dead in their residence at Shanir Akhra in the city's Kadamtoli Saturday, police said. The police recovered the bodies of Yasmin Begum (26) and her daughter Tanha Akter at about 7:30am after being informed by victims' relatives. Family members of the victims alleged that Yesmin's stepson Babu might have killed them, as he remains missing since the incident. They also alleged Babu had arguments with her stepmother for the last several days. Aiyubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kadamtoli police station said they launched drives to arrest the stepson, who stayed at the house overnight. Meanwhile, the police recovered the body of a listed criminal, Abdus Samad, from the city's Shyamoli area in the morning. He was wanted in a number of criminal cases, including murder.
