Mentally frustrated Apu Munshi (25), son of Awami League (AL) lawmaker and former BGMEA chief Tipu Munshi, committed suicide by shooting himself in his bedroom at Uttara in the city soon after Thursday midnight, the police said Friday. The police said after being informed they recovered Apu with bullet wound in his chest after breaking door of his bedroom at about 2:30am and sent it to the United Hospital where doctors declared him dead. "We have also recovered a licensed firearm of Tipu Munshi from the bedroom," a police officer of Uttara police station told the FE. The police officer also said Apu could be a drug addict as they found some papers related to his treatment taken at various rehab centres. The police quoting family members said Apu, who returned home few days ago from Canada where he was studying, might have shot himself as he was suffering from mental agonies for past few days.— FE Report
