Muggers snatch Tk 2.6m at Banani

Muggers snatched away Tk 2.6 million in cash from an employee of a private company, injuring him with gunshots, in the city's Banani Sunday evening. Police quoting witnesses said, Jutindra Chandra Barman, a typist of Mika Properties and Securities located on Kamal Ataturk Avenue, and accounts officer Rubel were going to a nearby branch of Premier Bank to deposit the money, carried in two bags. Close to their destination, at around 6:30 pm, three muggers appeared riding two motorbikes and took away the full amount, after firing gunshots that wounded Jutindra's right leg. He was rushed to United Hospital.
