JS goes into session Sunday Parliament goes into its ninth session tomorrow (Sunday), most likely without the opposition. The eighth session of the ninth parliament was prorogued on March 24. The special committee on constitution amendment is likely to place its report at the beginning of the session with recommendations for amending the constitution in line with the verdict of the Supreme Court. Finance Minister AMA Muhith is scheduled to place the national budget for fiscal 2011-12 in the House, possibly on June 9. A leader of BNP said Friday that the party has no possibility of rejoining parliament at the start of the session. - UNB Trawler sinks in Meghna: 2 die, 20 missing NARAYANGANJ, May 20: At least two people died and 20 others went missing after a passenger trawler struck by sand loaded bulkhead sank in the Meghna River at Bishnandi village of Araihazar upazila Friday evening. Local rescuers recovered bodies of two females. One was identified as Parbati Barman, wife of Sanjib Barman of the upazila. The identity of 11-year old girl was not available immediately. Police said, the trawler with 30-35 passengers on board was going to Bishnandi ghat from Homna of Comilla. - UNB
