Fakhrul’s seat declared vacant
The Bogura-6 parliamentary constituency won by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been declared vacant as the BNP leader has refused to take oath as MP. Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury made the announcement on Tuesday, a day after the deadline for swearing-in passed. — bdnews24.com

39th special BCS results published
The final results of 39th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination were published on Tuesday. Altogether, 4,542 candidates were recommended for assistant surgeon's post and 250 for assistant dental surgeon, said a press release of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC). Theft at Ershad’s office
Thieves broke into the office of former military strongman HM Ershad on early Tuesday and stole around Tk 4.3 million in cash. "The money was for paying salaries of office staff," said Faisal Chisti, a presidium member of Jatiya Party. Thieves broke the locker at Ershad's Banani office and took away the money, he said. — UNB
