BB fixes office hours for banks during Ramadan
Bangladesh Bank has fixed office hours for all scheduled banks in the country during the month of Ramadan. As per the new schedule, banks will remain open from 9:30 am to 4.00pm with a break from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm for prayer, said a circular issued by the central bank. However, banking transaction will take place between 9:30 am to 2:30 pm from Sunday to Thursday. — UNB

PM's order to provide assistance to Fani victims
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked on Sunday the authorities concerned to quickly assess the damage and provide assistance to cyclone Fani victims. She also prayed for the people who died during the cyclone and extended condolence to the bereaved families. The Prime Minister, who is now in London, also directed her party Awami League's leaders and activists to stand by the cyclone victims. — UNB

SSC exam results today
The results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be published across the country today (Monday). "Education minister Dr Dipu Moni will publish the results of the examinations at a programme to be held at International Mother Language Institute at 10.00am as the chairmen of all educational boards will hand over the summary of the results to her". — BSS

Two workers sustain burn injuries
NARAYANGANJ, May 05: Two workers sustained burn injuries while working at a steel mill at Bhulta in Rupganj upazila on Sunday. The identities of the victims could not be known immediately. The two workers of the Hazi Imam Steel Mill sustained burn injury while working with hot coal and iron rod at the mill. — UNB
