Tk 396.3m incentive for Aus farmers
The government allocated Tk 396.3 million (39.63 crore) in incentives for small and marginal farmers to boost Aus rice production in the next season, said Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury on Wednesday. "Some 237,182 small and marginal farmers will get Tk 39.64 crore as incentives for Aus paddy cultivation on 237,182 bighas of land," said the minister while briefing reporters at her ministry. Farmers of 64 districts will receive fertilizers and seeds free of cost to produce the 'Ufshi' variety of Aus while farmers of 40 districts will get incentives for the 'Narica' variety of Aus paddy, she added. Farmers will get five kilograms of seeds, 20 kilos of urea fertilizers, 10 kilos of DAP and 10 kilos of MOP each for every bigha of land. — UNB
HSC, equivalent exams to begin on April 2
The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will begin across the country on April 2. The exam routine was published on the ministry website on Wednesday. As per the routine, the examinations will end on May 23. — UNB
