Fire at Bhasantek slum near Mirpur
A massive fire has raged through Dhaka's Bhasantek slum, leaving several shanties in ashes. No casualties have been reported so far, said Bhasantek Police OC Munshi Sabbir Ahmed. JS passes Nazrul Institute Bill
The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) passed on Monday the 'Kabi Nazrul Institute Bill, 2018, aiming to raise the number of its board members to eight from seven. The Bill is replacing the Nazrul Institute Ordinance 1984 promulgated by the martial law regime as the Supreme Court had declared illegal all the ordinances, promulgated during military rules. — UNB
