PM clears 13 files digitally from UK
LONDON, Apr 19: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is now in London to join the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), has cleared 13 urgent files digitally. "Despite her busy schedule in London, the prime minister is running office digitally and clearing files regularly," said PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim on Thursday. Sheikh Hasina has so far cleared 13 important electronic files (e-files) related to the Purchase Committee, the Energy Ministry and the Public Safety Division under the Home Ministry. The press secretary said the Prime Minister earlier instructed her office to send all the important files to her during her stay in the UK. "Following the directives, officials concerned at the Prime Minister's Office emailed urgent files to the Prime Minister," he added. — UNB
Free medical services for FFs in a month
PABNA, Apr 19: Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq said on Thursday the government would launch free medical services for freedom fighters within a month. He made the remarks at a rally after inaugurating the Sujanagar Freedom Fighters Complex in Sujanagar upazila here. The minister said his ministry would allocate a fund for Upazila and District Health Complexes and specialised hospitals in Dhaka and the hospital authorities would use the fund for treatment of the freedom fighters. ` — UNB
