Hasina wins Gopalganj-3
GOPALGANJ, Dec 30: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was unofficially declared elected in Gopalganj-3 constituency in the 11th general election on Sunday. Sheikh Hasina bagged 229,539 votes while her nearest rival SM Jilani of BNP polled 123. Returning officer Mokhledsur Rahman Sarkar announced the unofficial result around 8.00pm. — UNB

Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda said on Sunday the overall voting situation across the country is good except some sporadic incidents. He said this after casting his vote at IES High School polling station at Uttara at 10:55am. The CEC said, "I didn't notice whether BNP agents are absent in the polling stations."
