Govt fixes Ramadan office timings from 9:00am to 3:30pm

The government has fixed the office timings during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan from 9 am to 3:30 pm on every working day. The cabinet decided on Monday the office timings at a meeting, held with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at the Prime Minister's Office in the city. There will be a 15-minute break from 1:15pm to 1:30pm for Zohr prayers. The new timings will be effective for all the government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous

SC stays HC order on FFs’ retirement age

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) stayed on Monday for eight weeks of the High Court (HC) order that had declared illegal a provision of Public Servant Retirement (Amendment) Act, 2013. "As a result of this apex court order, the retirement age for the Freedom Fighter public servants will remain 60 years," additional attorney general Murad Reza said. — BSS
