Nine more die of Covid, 275 new cases

Nine people died of Covid-19 while 275 more got infected with the virus during the last 24 hours until 8:0am on Sunday.

With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from coronavirus reached 27,823 and the total caseloads exceeded 1.567 million since the virus was detected first in the country in March 2020.

A total of 18,485 samples were tested, including antigen tests, during the last 24-hour reporting time while 18,499 samples were collected during the period.

However, the Covid-19 test positivity rate slightly inched down 1.49 per cent on the day against the previous day's 1.85 per cent.
