No condition imposed for Khaleda's release, says adviser

CHITTAGONG, Aug 30 (UNB): Communications Adviser Golam Quader has categorically denied that any condition was imposed for release of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia or her release was held up because of any condition.

The process of her release was at the final stage. She would be released in the same process another ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had been set free on bail, he said Saturday.

The Adviser said this while talking to journalists after opening a new building at Biponi Bitan in the New Market.

Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) and Chittagong City Corporation jointly initiated the project at a cost of Tk 110 million (11 crore).

On four-party alliance's two key leaders lengthy meeting with Khaleda in the sub-jail, the Adviser said the government allowed them to discuss with the alliance chief to ensure the participation of all political parties in the general election pledged by December next. Earlier, the Adviser visited three canal digging projects at Bahaddarhat for resolving the problem of water logging. He asked the officials concerned to complete the work within the stipulated time.

In the afternoon, he saw the progress of work on the 3rd Karnaphuli Bridge, which is scheduled to complete by December.
