Not true poor unable to buy fish and meat, says Mannan

Planning Minister M A Mannan differed with a study that said meat and fish had gone beyond the purchasing power of the common people.

"..where do such huge supplies of meat and fishes in the markets go if the people do not buy them", Mr Mannan questioned.

So, it is not true that the poor people are unable to buy fish and meat.

The planning minister was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the eighth BAPA FoodPro International Expo at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the city.

He also said: "..the soaring prices of rice cause concerns for us (politicians) while falling prices of the staple keep us at comfortable level."
