One held with Tk 5.79m at Ctg court

CHITTAGONG, Oct 14 (BSS): A man was caught with Tk 5.79 million (57.92 lakh) from in front of Annex Bhaban-2 of the Chittagong Court during a search following a bomb threat.
The detained person who was identified as Mohammad Ilias, 32, hails from Koshba upazila of Brahmanbaria district. He was stopped at the check-post in front of the new annex building at
12.50 pm Tuesday, said Officer in Charge of Kotwali Thana A K M Mohiuddin Selim.
The money was found in a jute bag Ilias was carrying. Police were trying to find out why he was carrying such a big amount of money, the OC added.
A man identifying himself as a member of the banned extremist outfit Jamaat- ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) called a lawyer in the morning and threatened to blow up the court building. Police strengthened security in the area by setting up check posts at different points.
