OPEC to keep daily output at 30m barrels

VIENNA, Dec 14: OPEC says its 12 oil ministers have agreed to keep the organization's output at 30 million barrels a day. A statement issued by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries says that the agreement includes a voluntary commitment by the producing nations to lower their outputs if world demand for crude drops. The result of Wednesday's meeting was widely anticipated. - AP

COX'S BAZAR, Dec 14: Around 100 people, most of them Rohingyas, were reported missing when a trawler carrying them capsized in the Bay near Sabrang union of Teknaf upazila early Wednesday. The trawler was believed to be illegally going to Myanmar or a Malaysian island in search of employment for the people aboard it. It capsized near Katabonia, about 10km off the Teknaf coast. - UNB
