Passenger jet makes emergency landing

A Chittagong-bound passenger aircraft operated by private carrier United Airways Tuesday made an emergency landing in Dhaka airport after its pilot detected a technical problem with one of its engines. The twin-engine Canadian Dash-8-100 aircraft left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka for Hazrat Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong at 5:00pm, Public Relations Officer of the airways said. "Almost reaching its destination, the pilot of the plane sensed some problems in its engine and flew back to Dhaka as technical assistance was unavailable in Chittagong airport," he explained.
