PM, Sharma talk bilateral trade, business issues

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Sunday Bangladesh wants to continue its effort along with other neighbouring countries to alleviate poverty from the South Asian region. She said this when the visiting Indian Commerce Minister Anand Sharma along with his delegation paid a courtesy call on her at her office, report agencies. During the meeting, they discussed various issues focusing on strengthening bilateral trade and business for the benefit of two peoples, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told newsmen after the meeting. Hasina said her government is working relentlessly to improve the living standard of the people through ensuring their economic emancipation. The Indian commerce minister apprised her of his visit to Bangladesh. In reply, the Prime Minister thanked Anand for the visit. He was accompanied by Indian Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar and Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Rajit Mitter. Commerce Minister Muhammad Faruk Khan, Ambassador -At- Large M Ziauddin, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister M A Karim, Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Secretary Mollah Waheeduzzaman and Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Abul Kalam Azad were present on the occasion.
