PMO under solar panel system

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Solar Panel System at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Thursday, reports UNB.
Pressing the switch of the solar panel, the Prime Minister opened the system installed with a capacity of 20.16 kilowatt.
A special Munajat was also offered on the occasion seeking success of the government in implementing all development programmes as well as peace and prosperity of the mass people.
State Minister for Power Mohammad Enamul Haque, Prime Minister's Energy Adviser Toufiq-E-Elahi Chowdhury, PM's Adviser on Education, Social Development and Political Affairs Dr Alauddin Ahmed, Principal Secretary MA Karim, PMO Secretary Mollah Waheeduzzaman and PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad were present at the function.
The solar panel has been installed on the roof of the PMO on 1,700-square feet steel structure at a total cost of Tk 9.95 million.
Power Development Board (PDB) has implemented the project with technical support from the contracting company, Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy, while the PDB Dhaka unit and the Works Construction Division will jointly maintain the project.
A total of 126 solar panels have been used for the entire system in which five charge controllers with 80 amperes and 28 batteries with 1,320 amperes have been installed.
Arrangement has been made in the solar system for transfer of power from DC to AC by four hybrid inverters with 3,000 volt/amperes.
Technical persons involved in the solar panel project said that gradually the entire PMO would be taken under the solar panel system.
