May 07, 2010 00:00:00

A major fault that occurred at an underground cable Wednesday was finally repaired Thursday by the Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd (DPDC). Following the fault Wednesday, a vast area of the central part of the capital city, including Bangladesh Secretariat, plunged into a blackout. DPDC officials said the fault was detected at a point at the underground grid line near the tombs of the three national leaders at Doel Chattar on Dhaka University campus.
The cable connected the power transmission from the Dhanmondi grid sub-station to the Ramna sub-station.
