FE REPORT | February 05, 2025 00:00:00

Chief Adviser of the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus will hold the first meeting of the National Consensus Commission with the political parties in mid-February as the six reform commissions' recommendations will be made public on Feb 8.

The meeting would discuss the reform proposals recommended by the six reform commissions, said Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul at a press briefing on Tuesday.

He said that the reform proposals of the six commissions would be made public on February 8 and on the same day the tenure of the commissions would end.

"On the same day we shall send the recommendations of the commissions to all the political parties, who supported the July mass uprising," he added.

The reform proposals would be finalised through consensus among the political parties and on the basis of the consensus the electoral roadmap would be determined, he added.

Headed by the Chief Adviser, the National Consensus Commission was formed recently to create consensus among the stakeholders and political parties on the reform proposals.

Responding to a question, he said that the reform proposals of the constitution commission would also be determined through consensus, he added.

Press Secretary to Chief Adviser, Shafiqul Alam, moderated the briefing.
