RU teacher killed by miscreants

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Nov 15: Prof Dr AKM Shafiul Alam Lelin, a teacher of sociology department of Rajshahi University (RU) was killed by unidentified miscreants Saturday.

Alamgir Hossain, officer in charge (OC) of Motihar police station said Prof Lelin was returning home at Chowddopai, adjacent to university at 3:00pm.

Some unidentified miscreants swooped on him and stabbed him in different parts of his body indiscriminately.

They escaped the scene leaving him grievously injured. Later local people sent him to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in a critical condition.

Dr. Momtaj, Neurosurgeon of RMCH told the newsmen that Prof Lelin got serious injuries in his head, neck and different parts of the body.

Later he was taken to the emergency department where he died, the doctor also said.
