FE Report
The government rules and regulations should be made business friendly and demand driven, said Chairman of Regulatory Reform Commission Dr. Akbar Ali Khan.
"The prevailing business rules and regulations in the country are more of supply driven rather than demand driven," Akbar Ali Khan said at the launching ceremony of business magazine titled Bangladesh Business in the city Saturday.
"In order to make the business people more aware of these regulations; they should be posted on the government websites. At the same time, feedbacks and recommendations must be sought from all corners before they finally come into affect," he added.
Moazzem Hussein, Editor of The Financial Express in his speech said: "In the context of Bangladeshi business environment, there is a greater scope for interaction and dialogue between public sector and private sector."
He expressed his hope that launching a business magazine like Bangladesh Business would bridge that gap while focusing on promotion of investment in the country.
Later, the new magazine named Bangladesh Business along with its related website www.bangladeshbusiness.biz was formally launched at the ceremony.
The first issue of the magazine originally came out earlier in January this year. Euroconsult/ BMB MottMacDonald is the initiating agency of the publication.
During the function, the second issue of the magazine was unveiled while the four concepts behind the related website- participation, advocacy, information and resources were also demonstrated.
Farook Choudhury, Business Development Manager of BMB MottMacDonald in South and South East Asia also spoke on the occasion.
