The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) held a meeting Thursday with representatives of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) and merchant banks. The meeting discussed the sudden spurt in trading on the DSE with turnover hitting Tk20 billion mark on Wednesday. They, however, stressed that market has enough depth to absorb higher inflow of investment. "Correction is a usual phenomenon in the stock market," newly elected DSE President Shakil Rizvi told the FE after the meeting. "There is nothing to be worried about the ups and downs of share prices," he said. — FE Report
