SEC member Yasin asked to resign

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Member Muhammad Yasin Ali has been asked to resign from his post as the government moves to restructure the securities regulator.
The other SEC Member M. Anisuzzaman has also been asked to meet the Secretary of Banking and Financial Institution Division Shafiqur Rahman Patwary today (Wednesday) at his secretariat office.
When contacted, Mr. Ali while confirming the news about his resignation said, "Yes, the ministry of finance has asked me to resign from the post of SEC member."
Ali met the Secretary of Banking and Financial Institution Division at 4 pm on Tuesday at the latter's secretariat office.
When asked, Ali said he would resign as soon as possible.
The other SEC Member Anisuzzaman also confirmed his today's appointment with the Secretary of Banking and Financial Institution Division.
But Zaman said he was not sure whether the government would ask him to resign from the SEC.
