Secondary schools, colleges closed

The government has ordered a shutdown of all high schools and colleges across the country until further notice amid deadly violence during protests against government job quotas, reports bdnews24.com.
Besides the educational institutions at secondary and higher secondary levels, polytechnic institutes will also be closed, the education ministry said in a notice on Tuesday night.
The ministry said it took the decision considering the students' safety.
Meanwhile, the authorities have postponed Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent exams scheduled for Thursday with deaths reported in violence during quota reform protests in different parts of Bangladesh.
The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee announced the decision on Tuesday night as the death toll in clashes and attacks rose to six. The committee's notice cited "unavoidable reasons" behind its decision.
It said the exams would continue as per the schedule from Sunday, Jul 21.
A new date for Thursday's tests will be announced later.
