The heightened security measures over the final verdict on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's murder trial would be there until the execution of the killers, said Home Minister Sahara Khatun, reports bdnews24.com.
The home minister told reporters Friday that the bomb attack on Awami League MP Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and death threat to Attorney General Mahbubey Alam go only to show that the supporters of the killers were trying to strike back.
"The security cordon would be maintained until the executions," she said while attending a programme of Mujib Shena Parishad, a children's organisation.
The Supreme Court Thursday upheld death sentences on 12 former army officers convicted of killing the Bangladesh's founder on August 15, 1975.
Replying to media queries, the minister said that the government would do everything to bring back the fugitives convicted of the killing.
"Earlier, through the Interpol we have managed to bring back AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed and Bazlul Huda; the same would be done for the others."
She said that her ministry would issue "International Red Alert" in different countries to capture the fugitives.
"I raised this issue a few days back in Singapore while attending an Interpol conference."
Advocate Shahara said that she firmly believed that the government would succeed to bring the killers back.
