Seven killed in Chittagong road accident

CHITTAGONG, Nov 13: Seven persons were killed and eight others injured in a road accident at Patiya of the district. Those who died on the spot were Tejendra Lal Dhar (70), Babul Dhar (50), Bibhu Dhar (45) and microbus driver Shahidul Alam (22). Others who died in the hospital were Mridul Dhar (55), Parikshit Dhar (60) and Jadu Dhar (40). All the victims except the microbus driver were members of a bridal party, who were returning home after attending a marriage ceremony in Lohagara upazila in south Chittagong. The Patiya police said the accident took place at about 3:30am at Shahchan Aulia Mazar gate of Patiya upazila Sadar. A Cox's Bazar-bound truck collided head-on with a microbus carrying 15 persons on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar Highway.
