CHITTAGONG, Aug 30: A fire at the Shikalbaha 60-megawatt power station was brought under control by 6.00 pm on Sunday, fire control sources said.
The fire occurred from a short-circuit in the transmission line of the station, forcing suspension of power distribution at around 3.30 pm.
Fire extinguishing units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after two hours of hectic efforts.
Agrabad Fire Office said the power station resumed the electricity supply to the areas in southern Chittagong.
