Six named for Bangla Academy awards

Anwara Syed Huq and Rabiul Husain are among the six named for this year's Bangla Academy awards. The six authors have been named for the awards in 2009 for their contribution to literature, the Academy said in a press release Friday. Arunav Sarkar and Rabiul Husain will be given the honour for their contribution to poetry while Anwara Syed Huq and Sushanta Majumder have been nominated as novelists. Dr Abul Ahsan Chowdhury was chosen for the honour for research and Rafiqul Haque for children's literature.
