CHITTAGONG, June 16 (UNB): BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury MP was held by police as he and his associates in three or four cars were passing by the Bakulia thana in the afternoon. Police intelligence officer Jahangir Alam told UNB that he was held along with his car at about 5:15pm as they suspected that he was quietly engaged in election campaign for tomorrow's mayoral election. Chowdhury told UNB over phone from Bakulia thana that the police held him when he was returning from the house of a relative after lunch. — UNB
