Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 79 runs in the first of the three one-day internationals (ODIs), played at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium, Dhaka, Friday.
This was the second and landmark win against Pakistan in any ODI after 1999. Playing before a capacity crowd at the home ground Bangladesh made the highest ever ODI score of 329 for six wickets. After losing two quick wickets, Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim laid a solid foundation for Bangladesh. Tamim scored 132 and Mushfiq 106.
According to bdnews24.com, Pakistan lost two wickets in an Arafat Sunny over to lose way in their huge chase of 330.
The tourists were 217 for 6 after 40 overs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Fawad Alam (14) went back first when Sunny followed him with a full toss that the batsman played straight to Soumya Sarkar at mid-off.
Then Saad Nasim went back for a duck when Sunny spun through to take out his offstump in the last ball of the over.
Mohammad Rizwan (47) and Wahab Riaz (0) were in the middle for the tourists.
Haris Sohail (51) went back when he tried to loft Taskin Ahmed over mid-on but ended up holing out to Mahmudullah.
Sohail and Rizwan had smashed 19 runs off Abul Hasan in the 29th over that included four boundaries.
Taskin also took out Azhar Ali (72) who tried to run one through the slips but ended up edging back to the wickekeeper.
