Time for submission of tax returns expires today

The time for submission of tax returns by individuals will expire today (Thursday) with comparatively lower response than that of the previous year as only 0.4 million people have submitted tax returns until Tuesday.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has received tax more than 7.0 billion against the returns submitted, according to a provisional figure of revenue board.
In 2007-08, a total of 0.64 million taxpayers paid Tk 7.39 billion tax.
