A bogie of an inter-city train caught fire at the Kamalapur Railway Station in the city on Tuesday, reports UNB.
Sources at the Fire Service Central Control Room said the compartment of 'Parabat Express' kept at the platform-3 went up in flames at about 2:57 pm.
Four firefighting units rushed in and doused the blaze around 3:50pm, said duty officer at the control room Bhajan Kumar.
However, no casualty was reported in the fire incident.
The damage in the fire incident was estimated at about Tk 500 thousand (5 lakh), he said adding that the reason behind the fire could not be known.
