Pakistan will face Australia today (Sunday) at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium at 3:30pm.
The slower pitches in Bangladesh will provide a new challenge for Australia, although they did better in the practice match against New Zealand in Fatullah.
On the other hand Pakistan's campaign started with a defeat at the hands of India at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium on Friday.
Australia and Pakistan have not met in a T20 since the group stage of the 2012 World T20 in Sri Lanka, when Pakistan cruised to victory.
The teams met in 11 T20s -- Pakistan won six, Australia four and there has been one tie, which Pakistan won in a Super Over.
Meanwhile AFP adds: The West Indies open the defence of their World Twenty20 title today (Sunday) against India.
The match will kick off at Sher-e-Bangla stadium at 7:30pm.
Darren Sammy's men tore apart the form book when they stunned hosts Sri Lanka in the final of the previous edition in Colombo two years ago.
Sammy said Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Indians, who thumped Pakistan by seven wickets in the Super-10 opener on Friday, were no strangers to his players since they played together in the Indian Premier League.
Two big matches today
