Two persons including a female garment worker were killed in a road accident at Pallabi Thana area in the city Friday afternoon, reports BSS.
The victims were identified as Md Chan Mia, a roadside tea vendor and Shajnaj (45), a garments worker.
The accident occurred when a passenger bus got on to footpath and hit four persons at Mirpur-11 around 4.30pm, police and local sources said.
Of them, Shajnaj died on the spot while Chan Mia at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and one person was rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in critical condition and the other one to Islamia Hospital, police said.
Driver of the killer vehicle Billal Hossain (40) was beaten by an angry mob and was rushed to emergency department of the DMCH for treatment.
