Two more murder cases against Hasina

Two more cases were filed against deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday.
One of the cases was filed against 47 people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, over the killing of hawker Md Shahabul Islam alias Shaon in Baipail area in Savar during the recent anti-discrimination student movement, reports BSS.
Md Mojibul Hossain, relative of Shaon, filed the complaint over the killing with the court of Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Sultana. The court, after recording statement of the complainant, asked the officer in-charge of Ashulia Police Station to accept the matter as first information report (FIR).
The other prominent accused in the case are - Obaidul Quader, Salman F Rahman, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Anisul Huq, Hasan Mahmud and Chowdhury, Abdullah Al Mamun. Around 200 to 300 unnamed people were also implicated in the case.
According to the case documents, Shaon joined the anti-discrimination street protest in the morning of July 4. He got shot at around 11 am and succumbed to his injuries at Dhamrai upazilla health complex around 1:30 pm.
The other case was lodged with the court of additional chief judicial magistrate in Narsingdi mentioning names of 81 persons, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, and former home minister Asaduzaman Khan Kamal, bringing five charges that include killing.
The case was filed in connection with the killing of a person named Azizul Mia in police firing on July 18 during the recent nationwide student protest that compelled the Sheikh Hasina government to step down. Azizul succumbed to his injuries on July 22 at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Name of 81 persons were mentioned in the case while the names of 400-500 others were not mentioned in the case.
The other key accused of the case are: former police chief Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, DB chief Harun-or-Rashid, former Narsingdi Sadar lawmaker Lt Col (Retd) Nazrul Islam Hiru, district council chairman Moniruzzaman, Narsingdi district Awami League president GM Taleb Hossain and general secretary Peerjada Mohamad Ali.
