Top US firm Rockwell Automation has partnered with a local leading company in industrial automation and digital transformation to combine advanced technologies with the local workforce in the country's manufacturing and industries.

Rockwell Automation has strategically partnered with Reverie Automation recently to cater to the specific needs of the manufacturing sector in Bangladesh.

"This collaboration has enabled Rockwell Automation to effectively serve various industries in the country," Dilip Sawhney, regional vice-president (South Asia), Rockwell Automation, told The Financial Express.

Dilip Sawhney recently visited Bangladesh to expand businesses in the country.

During his visit, while talking to FE about their presence in Bangladesh, he said by partnering with a Bangladeshi automation firm, Rockwell recognises Bangladesh as a significant market in the South Asia region.

Rockwell Automation, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, generates revenue worth USD $7.76 billion and employs approximately 28,000 problem solvers dedicated to its customers in more than 100 countries.

However, Dilip Sawhney didn't disclose the size of their investment in Bangladesh.

He said the company aims to build an ecosystem of partners in Bangladesh to provide local support and effective customer service throughout the entire lifecycle of automation systems.

"This initiative aligns with the growing importance of environmental considerations in manufacturing industries," he said.

Looking into the future, the regional vice-president said Rockwell envisions providing cutting-edge automation technologies and solutions that address the increasing complexity and challenges faced by manufacturers in Bangladesh.

"The company aims to remain relevant to its clients, supporting them in overcoming industry-specific hurdles and achieving sustainability goals."

He said dedicated industry and solution consultants work closely with customers, conducting plant walkthroughs to identify actual pain points.

"This proactive approach helps Rockwell Automation better understand its customers' needs and provide appropriate solutions to overcome operational complexity," he said.

Dilip Sawhney said Rockwell Automation sees excellent potential in cloud-based solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises in Bangladesh.

"Cloud-hosted solutions offer affordable and accessible options, providing businesses with a competitive edge and agility in a rapidly evolving market," he said.

Mr Sawhney believes that Rockwell Automation's solutions and technologies can significantly contribute to improving productivity, efficiency and sustainability in the manufacturing industry in Bangladesh.

He said embracing technologies like big data, analytics, AI and machine learning enables data-driven decisions, predicts maintenance needs and optimises production, leading to improved efficiency and reduced downtime.

"This data-centric approach empowers manufacturers to make informed real-time decisions for enhanced operational performance," he added.

Rockwell Automation offers energy management systems, soft sensors and advanced process controls to help manufacturers reduce energy consumption, optimise resource usage and lower their environmental footprint.

The company's vision revolves around the connected enterprise concept. By integrating all functions within an organisation, including manufacturing, sales, marketing, distribution, finance and planning, Rockwell Automation creates a unified digital thread.

Dilip Sawhney said this seamless integration ensures decision-makers have access to real-time data, enabling informed decisions based on a standard set of facts.

He said they emphasise a human-centric approach to automation, recognising the importance of skilled human resources in manufacturing.

"By empowering the workforce and supporting gig workers, the company contributes to workforce skill development and overall compliance, further enhancing productivity," he added.
