World’s first robot citizen now in city

The world's first artificially intelligent robot citizen, Sophia, has landed in Dhaka to attend the Digital World-2017, reports bdnews24.com.
Parts of the humanoid robot remained inside a box throughout the flight from Hong Kong, Abu Naser, public relations officer at the ICT Division, has said.
After landing at 12am Tuesday, the box, accompanied by an operator, was taken to a five-star hotel from the airport, he said.
The creator of Sophia, Dr David Hanson, is due to arrive on Tuesday night.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Digital World expo today (Wednesday).
Sophia, who resembles Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn, will interact with visitors at the expo from 2:30pm to 4:30pm the same day.
She will take questions from visitors at the Hall of Fame inside the Banganandhu International Conference Centre or BICC at a session, "Techtalk with Sophia", open for 1,700 visitors.
She will take 10 or 15 questions from each visitor. Dr David Hanson will deliver a speech at the end of the session.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak will also be present.
