$500m remitted home in 11 days of April

The country has received remittance amounting to about US$ 500 million in the first 11 days of the current month, reports UNB.

According to a Bangladesh Bank statement, non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) living abroad sent a total of US$ 495.86 million from April 1-11 of the current year.

Of this, $160.63 million came into the country in the first four days from April 1 while the remaining $335.23 flowed into the country between the days in April 5-11.

Of the US$ 495.86, remittance of $160.57 came into the country through four state-owned commercial banks while specialised banks brought only $7.15 million, statistics showed.
