1 killed as train hits pick-up van in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Aug 21 (UNB): A man was killed and two others were injured as a train crashed into a pick-up van on a level crossing in City Gate area in the city on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Shafiq (25), son of Shamsuddin of New Mansoorabad area of the city. He was a helper of the pickup van.

GRP police said the accident took place when Chittagong-bound 'Nasirabad Express' train from Mymensingh hit the pick-up van of RFL

Company while it was passing the level crossing around 6:30am, leaving Shafique dead on the spot.

Injured driver of the pick-up van Jalal and another helper Mojammel were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
