13th SBL case against bosses of Hall-Mark

Sonali Bank Limited (SBL) filed Wednesday the 13th case against the top officials of Hall-Mark Group in a bid to recover about Tk 2.26 billion, allegedly embezzled by one of the entities of the group.
SBL executive officer Md Abdus Salam filed the case with the court of Judge Md Rabiuzzaman of Artha Rin Adalat on behalf of the bank.
Hall-Mark chairman Jasmine Islam and managing director (MD) Tanvir Mahmud are the accused in the case.
After filing the case, Mr Salam said the SBL would file a total of 21 cases against the chairman and the MD of Hall-Mark Group. The name of the entity is Wal-Mart Designs Limited.
Earlier on March 25, 27 and 30, and April 1 and 8, the bank filed 12 cases against Ms Jasmine, Mr Mahmud and 10 of their companies with the same court for taking Tk 3.27 billion in loan on forged documents.
