Fourteen people were killed and 24 persons injured in three accidents in Dhamrai, Bogra and Sirajganj, report agencies.
Seven people, including three children, were killed as a private car got crushed between two buses on Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Barbaria bus stand area of Dhamrai upazila on Saturday.
All the seven people, killed in the crash, were the private car passengers. Further details of their identities were still awaited.
Officer-in-charge of Dhamrai Police Station Firoz Talukder said the car got stuck between two buses when a 'Padma Paribahan' bus was trying to overtake another bus, leaving four of the car passengers dead on the spot and three critically injured.
The three injured passengers died at Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
Meantime, four people, including three women, were killed and 23 others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a bus on the western side of the Bangabandhu Bridge link road in Kamarkhanda upazila early Saturday.
One of the deceased was identified as China Begum, 25, wife of Belal Hossain of Patharkhada village in Kurigram district.
Officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Bangabandhu Bridge (West) Police Station Mostafizur Rahman said a Dhaka-bound bus of 'Anik Paribahan' from Nilphamari collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction at Choirgati at about 2:30 am, leaving three women bus passengers, including China, dead on the spot and 23 people injured.
Of the injured, 10 people were admitted to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital and different clinics.
Another man succumbed to his injuries at Sakhawat H Memorial hospital.
Police seized the truck while its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
Three people were killed and another was injured in two separate road accidents in Dhunat and Sadar upazila on Saturday morning.
The first accident occurred at about 9.0 am when a brick-laden truck hit a motorcycle in Sonahata area on the Dhunat-Bogra road under Dhunat upazila, leaving motorcycle rider Momtaj Uddin, 45, and his wife Sefali Khatun, 35, dead on the spot and another injured, said Gaziur Rahman, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Bogra. Another accident took place at about 9.30 am when a bus crushed a motorcycle rider in Khandar area of the district town, leaving him dead on the spot.
